Shirley founded A La C.A.R.T.E. Solutions in 2010 to provide owners of small and mid-sized businesses with the caliber of accounting services typically reserved for large enterprises. She has applied her entrepreneurial mindset, Big 4 accounting background and years of experience in private industry to build ALC into a national practice with a team of skilled CPAs and finance professionals.
Shirley leads ALC’s strategic and business development initiatives. She also provides value-added CFO advisory services to improve clients’ profitability, productivity and efficiency, and invests substantial time recruiting and mentoring the firm’s team. She is a frequent author and speaker on topics ranging from best accounting and finance practices to business and human resource management.
Shirley leverages over 20 years of experience leading the accounting and finance departments for enterprises with up to $200 million in revenues to guide ALC’s clients and team.
Shirley began her career in public accounting at KPMG as a senior auditor for international conglomerates. After earning her CPA license, she joined a prominent video game software distributor and accessory manufacturer whose sales increased by 237% during her tenure as Controller.
Prior to founding ALC, Shirley led the accounting and finance departments as CFO for businesses across diverse industries, including distribution, manufacturing, construction, professional services and technology. Her key successes in these positions include: increasing gross profit by 20% by negotiating $2 million in purchase commitments for an $85MM manufacturer; contributing to 56% in annual sales growth by negotiating and securing debt financing for a leading consumer products company; and, managing debt-free growth of 300% over 12 months for a rapidly-growing construction services company.

Shirley lives in Culver City, California with her husband and their three children. When not at the beach or on the family’s backyard trampoline, Shirley spends her free time running, cycling, salsa dancing, skiing and scuba diving. She is passionate about supporting research for Multiple Sclerosis and has served as a Team Captain of Bike the US for MS, an annual 100-mile bike ride fundraiser since 2014.
