Michael is joining a la C.A.R.T.E. with a decade of varied accounting experience. Through working for a federal contractor, a public accounting firm, and a company that went public he has experienced a myriad of opportunities to grow professionally and acquire skills to leverage in service of clients now and in the future.
Michael began his career working for one of the prime contractors at the Hanford Nuclear Site, in central Washington State. In his role there, Michael was responsible for tracking over $300M in funding per year, and expenses incurred across 200+ projects the company was contracted to perform. He was also responsible for report writing and communication internally to the company’s CFO, and to the Department of Energy, to ensure funding and expenses were in line with contractual requirements to prevent shutdowns of projects.
After leaving his work with the federal contractor, Michael pursued public accounting with CliftonLarsonAllen. There he worked as a Tax Associate and Assurance Associate. In the tax space, Michael specialized in individual and partnership taxes. For assurance, he worked on financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits. Across all levels of assurance, Michael gained insight into several different industries including agriculture, manufacturing, higher education, and non-profit health organizations.
Next on Michael’s career journey, he moved to the private sector, joining a Seattle, WA based SaaS company as a Staff Accountant. There he specialized in general ledger work, eventually being promoted to Senior Accountant, and taking over review responsibilities in several areas. During his time there Michael was instrumental in the company’s transition to NetSuite, and the process of becoming a public company. As the company expanded through multiple acquisitions, Michael found a new role, bridging the work of the Mergers & Acquisitions department and the accounting department. In this role he was able to create a smoother transition process for acquired companies, assisting in their transition to complying with regulatory standards.
Michael is now joining the a la C.A.R.T.E. team, excited to take on the new challenges of the position and growing together with the clients.

Michael lives in his hometown of Moses Lake, Washington. A small agriculture and manufacturing community in central Washington State. He has a passion for attending live events, including sporting events, stand-up comedy performances, and the occasional play. Coming from a rural community, travel is often required to attend many live events, which has fed into Michael’s passion for road trips. The most memorable being a trip from Moses Lake to San Diego that involved a drive down the majority of the Pacific Coast Highway.
