Cheryl is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance and Operations with three decades of experience gained from her work in both the private sector as well as public accounting. She leverages this incredible knowledge to provide A La C.A.R.T.E.’s clients with strategic CFO advice and guidance to make informed business decisions and optimize performance. Cheryl is a strong leader, working with her team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, so her clients have the information they need to help manage their business.
With over 30 years of experience, Cheryl has directed all core business and functional disciplines, including information technology, human resources, retail, and operations management as the Director of Finance for the largest racetrack and casino in Iowa, Director of Finance and Operations for a contemporary art museum and school, and Chief Financial Officer for a social services organization.
Cheryl began her professional career in public accounting with KPMG growing in roles through Senior Manager. During her eleven years with KPMG, Cheryl provided auditing and consulting services for some of its largest and most prestigious clients in industries including manufacturing, distribution, retail, higher education, non-profit and financial institutions.

Cheryl lives in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, daughter, granddaughter, two dogs and two cats. When not camping in her vintage style camper, Cheryl spends her free time doing yoga, walking her dogs, planning sewing and knitting projects, cooking, or shopping online. She is passionate about empowering women and serves as Treasurer for Dress for Success Des Moines, also volunteering as a stylist and helps out with fundraising events.
