Curiosity did not kill the cat! It is the basis to building deep, longstanding relationships. This is just as important in your business life as in your personal life. Or, if you’re like me, many of my business colleagues have become my friends and some of my friends have become clients over the years.

If you are in a services industry, you are in the business of trust. And the only real way to build trust is by building deep long-lasting relationships with your clients.
So, BE CURIOUS. Ask your clients about their lives and their business in general – show curiosity and concern for their personal well-being and the people they care about. Do they have adequate life insurance? Do they have a will and a trust? Do they have a will and a trust? Do they have accurate financial statements? Are they going to be hiring new employees?
Think about all of the things that might worry them.
Show you care by suggesting that they talk to XYZ person or ABC company. Use that information to really help them. And, they will really appreciate the fact that you got their back, and the person you referred will thank you too (probably in more ways than one). Remember, it’s not a business, it’s a relationship.
